Good to hear. So you have been clean since March 2013? Wow, almost a year. Congrats. How did you do it? Have you gone to any more meetings since then? Hope you have a great new year one day at a time.

I've tapered down from 30 np a day to 8 now.. Then six tomorrow ..
I feel sick, nervous anxious and shakey. I don't sleep anymore and it feels like my blood is itchy. I guess I don't start my day one untill I reach zero.. I really want to do this.. It's just really hard.

How long did it take you to get your energy back and to feel normal again?

Hey Mike,

I was taking 10-15 10mg hydros per day off and on for a few years (even mixed in oxy and some morphine tabs too).....I stopped cold turkey last Monday 11:30pm. It was not fun for the first 5 days......I'm on day 6 today and feeling pretty good. I have an Rx for low back pain and it just started to consume me....its pretty awesome I'm beginning to notice little things that the numbness had me not pay attention to.

You can do it!!! I white knuckled it and decided I was done....I've heard the aggressive taper is very difficult. I would recommend speaking with your physician they can help!

Good luck! This board is fantastic!

Hey mike I'm on day 27 and still feeling sluggish. The first 2 1/2 weeks I didnt take anything then I had 2 days ( not back to back) that I took 1 or 2 Vic 5's. I don't even think they did a thing for me because of my tolerance so I don't even think about them. The beginning was tough but someone on here made a post to me that has really stuck in my head... You have to focus on your triumphs and not your slips because the all or nothing thinking is what leads us into failure. That has been so powerful for me. I am still on the clean path and I know you can do it to. The first 2 weeks are tough but I promise you everyday gets better. Were all here for you whenever you need an ear or support!!! Keep on keepin on!!
