I think that places like NA and AA are ok for a short time. The only reason I say that is because they have you say "Hi I am Charlie and I AM A DRUG ADDICT or ALCOHOLIC" or whatever your addiction is. Just be careful, NLP and other scientific research says that if you keep saying something to yourself you will continue to believe it/be it. I wish they would have people instead say, "Hello, my name is Charlie and TODAY I AM NOT AN ADDICT thanks to the support of AA/NA" or something like that. I tried NA for about a year and found it to be a bunch of people chafing at the bit hanging out to use, people going out and using then coming back, people still allowed to smoke as many cigarettes and drink as much coffee as they want. Also allowed to be on any "prescription meds" their doc says is ok..... COME ON PEOPLE! Cigs, coffee, meds....all different drugs, but drugs nonetheless. Just saying....
