Firstly, methadone does diminish withdrawal symptoms from heroin user withdrawal, but although on methadone if heroin is used the user can still get high. Speaking from experience. Now your friend maybe in denial that she has an addictive tendencies to use whatever drug to get high or maybe to block out thoughts. You mention of her being manic, that could be due to drugs or a mood disorder whats her mood like when shes low?? Suboxone is supposed to block the opiate receptors so users dont get high at all when using heroin.however, snorting suboxone can get you high.
