I'm 57 yrs. old. Been an addict for 46 yrs. Addicted to opiates more than 30 yrs. In 2000, I went on methadone. I hated the liquid handcuffs. In 2005, my methadone dr. precribed 200 mcgs of fentanyl daily which I was cut off cold turkey in 2010. Pure hell. Couldn't bounce back. I've been on suboxone for a year and 7 mos. I've gone from 10 mls to 6 in 9 days. I have only 112 mls left and am wondering if I should taper off the higher dose fast and stretch out the lower doses. Getting too old to be a slave to opiates not to mention being a slave to suboxone, (which is an opiate), and a puppet on a string by the medical association. I've been at 6 mls for 3 days. Should I go down to 4 mls tomorrow and stretch that out longer. My suboxone is in pill form.
I'm sure I can handle some discomfort but I'm so afraid of heavy withdrawals. I don't think I can handle it again. Please, send me your experience and suggestions. I am alone with no support because I live in the middle of nowhere. This post has been edited by Caroltm on July 11, 2014, 3:15 PM | ||
