Is there anybody out there who can help me?
My b/f plays slot machines at a casino. Only trouble is I think he has a problem !!! - I don't know how bad it is because he won't talk to me about it. He only tells me when he wins!! - His personality has completely changed, snappy, moody, irritable (I know he does coke occasionally and I have had some wonderful advice from that forum). Do you think the coke makes him gamble? - Money was never his god but these days he complains about any amount he has to spend even on a sandwich or something small like that, he is so money orientated it's scary. I think he is in deeper than he will admit and he even leaves the pub early saying he is going home but sometimes I have followed him and his car is always outside the casino. Help - what does this addiction do to you - I want to help him but I can't cause I just don't know how to. -------------------- May you be blessed, healed and protected with divine love and wisdom. | ||

I think by what you have said - the behavior and attitudes toward money are not a good sign. Coke really wouldn't make him decide to gamble one way or another. It would benefit you to come right out and ask him how many times a week he is gambling - not that it is okay but if he is not losing his shirt and functioning it could be a phase but if he is lying about his whereabouts and irritable chances are you have a problem on your hands. It is very hard try not to be confrontational it will not end well, ask if you can go with him to the Casino, say you want to see what it is all about, if he says no ask him why. Say if we are a couple why cant i go with you, you could get brave and go into the Casino if you know he is there are watch him (if he has a problem he wont even notice you are there (Speaking from experience). Be strong, try to get him to talk about why he goes there, is it for pleasure or is it to win back money he has lost? There are 20 questions for gambling on line print those off andf ask yourself them about him first then ask him - if he answers yes to 7 or more he needs an intervention before it gets way out of hand
