Hello Folks. Hope you are all doing good. For those of you are having a difficult time please remember that if I can do it so can you. When I was a patient at the treatment center back in 2010 I was voted among my peers as the one who was most likely to relapse..So far I have maintained my sobriety. Learning to be honest about my feelings plays a big part in maintaining my sobriety. . If I had a day that sucked, that I craved , that I wanted to give up I told someone instead of trying to pretend that all was fine and that I was ok. It is OK to tell someone you are not ok.It is ok to feel that everything sucks and it is ok to feel overwhelmed. Just reach out, tell someone and deal with it. Sharing how you feel is crucial to staying sober or it is in my case. You don't have to tell everyone. just one is enough, especially if that person is someone who cares. I was fortunate to have a good sponsor.. Take it easy, keep it simple and don't sweat the small stuff...

Hello folks. I am a bit late in posting this week. My apology to anyone who comes to listen to the music on a regular basis. I hope all is well with you and I hope you had a good Easter. Take care and never lose HOPE and never give up aiming for that sober life. There is life after addiction, there is love after addiction and there is a reason to wake up , to plan and to live life as it should be lived..Don't quit before the miracle happens...

Good day Folks. Hope you are all doing well. In my recovery program one of the greatest gifts I have been given is to learn to have an attitude of gratitude . Every day if you take the time to list 3 things in your life that you are grateful in time it will come automatically. Today I am grateful that I can see , hear, talk and walk, there are many who can't. I am grateful for another morning of waking up and the gift of a brand new day. I am so so so grateful to be sober. These days I am drinking from my saucer.

Hello there my friends. Hope you are all feeling well and hope that life is improving for each and everyone of you. The song that I posting today is one that reminds me of my early recovery. A lot of the people who helped me are now gone, 2 sponsors, an addiction counsellor and 3 close friends not including some family members. I have stayed sober through each and every death of my loved ones since I have been in recovery not because I am strong but because I lean on one who gives me strength to get through. As I always say do not get God/HP/Creator confused with religion. For those who have trouble believing in an HP maybe this exercise might help..

Take a piece of paper and draw a line down the middle. On the left side list all you were taught, or all you believe what God is. If you have no idea, then write down the word "Nothing." On the right side list what you want God to be for you, (best friend, loving. trustful, forgiving, non-judgmental, or whatever you like). When you are done, tear it down the middle, from top to bottom, and throw away the left side. You are now left with a God of your understanding; one you will feel comfortable praying to.

GOD OF ALL MY DAYS

Hello Folks. Hope you are treating yourself good. The past week has been one of many blessings and much reason for gratitude in spite of some issues regarding some close family members that have very serious health problems. LIfe is amazing, at times very scary but wonderful and a gift. When we wake in the morning we never know what that day will bring. We cannot control what will happen but we can have some control over our reaction and with faith in our HP, the creator, the God of our understanding we will find the strength to go on...

Hello Friends . It is a new day, a new week and the opportunity to make good and wise choices. Some of us have given up families for our addiction, others of us have given up addiction for our families. I am so VERY GRATEFUL I chose my family and my life over addiction. I would have missed out on so many wonderful moments that make up my life. There is life after addiction, there is a solution , there is FREEDOM from the bondage. My wish is that I bring you HOPE to at least try .

Hi Folks. Wishing you all peace and contentment and for those who are still suffering the pain of addiction I wish you healing. You are not your disease so please do don't let it define you. There is no cure but there is remission when we work at some sort of program that can help us live a sober life. All of us who are in remission have gone through the difficult path of recovery to sobriety . If we can do it... SO CAN YOU..Never give up . There is light , there is HOPE ..

Hello there folks . Dropping by to say hi and to wish you all well. Today I am going to share something with you. When I first became a member of AA I felt that I would never be able to do it. I felt I had to be perfect in order to maintain my recovery. That was a lie I was telling myself. We don't have to be perfect or any one thing to continue with recovery. From various sources that I have used to stay sober I take what I need and what works for me and then I leave the rest. My recovery is a combination of AA, daily meditation/readings,music plus a program that I made up for myself of bits and pieces from a combination of sources ,helping others and providing and receiving support. To me there is no right or wrong way to stay sober. As long as we find something that works for us then we just keep using it. My HP and AA is my foundation and after I came to realize that AA allows me to be human I found the program provided me with the tools to stay sober.Practicing gratitude is a life saver for me. It has totally changed my outlook on life. Acceptance is crucial to my recovery, acceptance that I have a disease that prevents me from drinking normally. Acceptance that life is what it is in all aspects and if there are things I cannot change then I can change the way I think about them. I will soon have 9 years of sobriety but to me each day is always just one day sober . We all just have one day because I know my sobriety depends on what I do today or what I don't do. I am not cured, I will never be cured I just make the decision to not drink one day at a time. Hope you will too...
