This is like the zillionth time ive tried to kick this s***. Nurofen plus...Finally they have bought in a system in Australia that requires you to show a drivers licence when buying it...there are a few places around that dont ask though and they are my haunts. I do know eventually that they will, so im trying again to stop. Ive been trying for almost 2 years now and still no luck! Lets see if this time is any different. So far its been about 36 hours and no nurofen...lets just say i feel crappy. All the usuals dizzy no motivation, not eating...im dreading the gastro and restless legs!! Ill be back tomoz to touch base..

it is a life style change. change everything you can that you do in your life. even it it is dumb and difficult like walking for an hour every day. set your self up with exercise, water, over the counter meds, vitamins, teas. do everything different. dont drive near any of the places you usually do. make your self do everything different. changing everything is temporary. dont hand out with any of the same people. see what you can do.

go to some kind of support group. plan on going for a year. make plans for success.

whatever is a trigger, change it. If you have too much money in your hands, change it some way. deposit into account you cant get at. what ever your habits are, change them.
and when you arent spending on drugs, watch your money grow. set goals.

Change is sometimes very hard and very daunting! Im trying my very best to do things differently...i dont have a big group of friends as the pills turned me into a zombie. Im just battling on..day 4 today almost 4 full day without N+... hard times i tell ya, its Thursday arvo here in Australia! Kids are home from school. Im forcing myself to move around alot more and its hard, but helping, im starting a light exercise regime next week. It will be 1 week clean for me then so i may as well do something good for my body for a change... so my symptons are very light or so it seems, i dont have the runs that much (touchwood to all of this) i jave slept fairly well the past 3 nights, i hope it keeps up. Im not very hungry but im forcing down water and small amounts of food! Ill touch base in a few days!

yes, change is hard. if it were easy, everyone would do it. !!

friends will come later when you are not a zombie and have something to have a conversation about.

I know this next statement does not compare to what you are going thru but.... at times in the past when I have quit smoking, I feel a loss. Knowing that I wont have the comfort of my smoke with coffee, driving to work, having a beer outside.... I actually feel grief.

I have quit smoking for 5 years and then went back to it.. for the last few years I have been quitting a lot. for a few weeks, and then smoking again, and so on. but now I know I can quit easily. not feeling the grief anymore. the next issue is going back to it.

I have to know that I can not "just have one."
