Hello everybody! I am new to this forum. I was wondering what people's thoughts were on non 12 step programs such as women for sobriety, SMART recovery, etc. I currently have 4 years clean using the NA program, but it has been mentioned to me to look into SMART.

I'm new to this forum and this is my first post. I'm AA but your question touched me because I have friends in both AA-NA...I have 11 years with AA..but I have tried a Christian AA- group for a few meetings. It was like going to Al-Anon for me. And I'm a christian. What I mean is AA- NA have worked for years, none of us want to be there just like we don't want cancer, but it works. On the flip you can try it, but if it seems lacking in substance and you decide.

I was actually asking for work. I am a Certified Peer Support Specialist and now on my way to being a Certified Recovery Coach. My journey is NA and I don't foresee that changing anytime soon. But part of my job is meeting clients where they are at and that often means another path of recovery. I haven't heard too much about non 12 step groups, or maybe just didn't pay it much attention, but now I have to research and who better to hear it from then like minded people.
