I Need Help, I Finally Know This...

I was hit by a car while I was walking home in 2006. It was a drunk driver. She destroyed my life. I lost everything. I lost my ability to walk, talk, go to the bathroom, basically just function. Then I started to learn these things over. Except it was 3 years and a giant painkiller addiction later. Now after all these years I am as normal as I will ever be. I need canes to walk, people can't understand how I talk much of the time. I lost my wife because I refused to stop drinking while taking my meds. My daughter who is 21 and pregnant with my grandson wants nothing to do with me. I have realized I am in serious trouble. Trouble I cannot get out of without help.Yet sometimes I look over the GGB or the Spaggetti Bowl, and can't help but think jumping is the only way to be free. I don't know if anyone reads this post anymore I just nowhere else to turn.
Thanks,
C M

Critter:

I, too, had basically lost the will to live in 1989.

In AA & NA I found recovery from drugs & alcohol, a family of recovering folks and a relationship with a Higher Power that I could never had imagined .

Call your local AA & NA numbers and go to the meetings. What do you have to lose?

All the best.

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,

---there are those too who suffer from grave emotional and mental disorders but many of them do recover if they have the capacity to be honest.

... I need AA more than it needs me.

--- I fight recovery tooth and nail....
I'm not used to being sane, it just doesn't seem natural.

Some know that 2+2=4 and can't stand it.

Most solutions are spiritual .
