Childhood experiences of adults with drug, gambling, sex and/or alcohol difficulties.
How does somebody develop an addiction?
Are there childhood experiences that make it more likely that someone will develop such difficulties?
Do those with such difficulties have different kinds of influential child experiences?
If you are interested you can help me research and answer these questions. If you are over 18 and feel you have some difficulties with compulsive use of drug, sex, alcohol or gambling then you are invited to follow this link and complete the online survey. It should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. Hopefully you will find the questions interesting, whilst adding to the literature on compulsive behaviours to inform professionals in the future.
Addictions study
I know it is yet another online survey, but I would really appreciate your views and/or time on this as it is part of my training to become a clinical psychologist and I would like to get as much of an understanding of what it is like to experience an addiction.
