Well hello. I need help and I know it. I have been going to NA meetings but I just can't do it. And my mom just won't listen. Every time I bring up my drinking or drug use she is like that is what I am in NA for. But I always tell her I need outside help. But she won't listen. I just don't understand. I almost had 30 days clean and sober. Today would of been 30 days. But I just had to mess it up by drinking and useing drugs last night into this morning. I just don't get it anymore. I want help and I need help. Can someone please help me understand this.
Oh I forgot to add in there that I am 18. So I know I could do something more to help myself because I am an legal "adult" now.

Hi Alexia
You are taking the first step. You are admitting you have a problem. Get your self admitted to a treatment center. If you don't it will get worse. Their purpose in life is to help people like you. Good Luck and God bless you

Your recovery depends on you, I think it would be wonderful for me if someone to take away my addiction for me, help me or take over. I think your Mom just does not understand what your going through and it is not her problem to fix for you.
Sorry if this sounds a bit harsh but it is your recovery. Don't let slips or relapses stop you from getting clean. It does take some folks more time.keep going to NA and if you need more than that start to look for it. You may need more attention such as counselling , medical help . You are not alone, everyone who posts here has been and is going through what you are feeling.

Hello Alexa:
"Going" to NA or AA meetings is one thing and "committing" to the meetings is another. There is a big difference between involved and committed, like a bacon & egg breakfast. The chicken is involved and the pig is committed. I had to become the pig.. all in. Are you doing 90 meetings in 90 days? Do you have a Home Group? Do you have a sponsor? Go to your meetings and ask the oldtimers how they got/stayed clean & sober. Then you do it. All the best.
