Being chained to going to a clinic every day is becoming less do-able. Does anyone know what type of doctor I can pursue for private treatment?

As far as I know the only way you could see a private doctor is if for pain, not addiction. For addiction switching to suboxone would be only way to see a private doctor.. (I believe)

Exactly what mary said, ive only heard of pain management for giving out methadone, but why not start tapering and get off of it.

You can be treated by a certified pain management doctor, however to be perscribed you'll need an MRI or some.medical proof concerning your condition. You'll still have to go once a month and most if not all only accept insurance . If you choose this route you may also rum into a situation where the Dr wont write methadone but may offer you lortab or oxy ( a med that may lead to other issues)
I've been in pain management form 18 yrs 15 on methadone 60mg a day jumped off 34-35 days ago .stopped tracking days at 30. Hope this helps.
