Please help me help someone kick Methadone,
I realy dont know what im doing and i need as much help as i can thanks. First i dont use methadone i never have i have never used heroin either. I have been with my girlfriend for around 4 years,i do not live with her she has 3 kids 3 grand kids she is 44 she has been useing methadone for around 20 years she gave up useing smack when i met her, the done she was getting from the clinic everyday im not sure of the dose im thinking it 50-100 maybe anyway she has tryed to tapper her self down but i think she has gon the wrong way around see in our area if you are on the methadone program you have to get it every day ,she got to the point where she didnt need it every day down to about 25 ml evrey 3 or for days when her legs get bad. the clinic no longer supplys her done because she dosnt have it every day so now she gets street done and doses herself she has no support whatso ever now this is not a simple story,a lot has happened in this lovely ladys life but her life is trashed,she is begining to see that,i want to help her the best i can. from what i have read on these pages and from what i can tell she she needs to taper off a mll or 2 at a time ,i know all pepole are difrent,and keep tappering down and then get off the s***,but what i think she has done is taken her dose down to a level at what she is comfortable with witch is about 25ml every 3 days ,,i am not totaly sure of the dose but i will find out but she's leveled off at a small dose n she's not juming off because of her legs what can i do? please help | ||

Hi, I'm a little confused. She does or doesn't want to come off? As far as clinic denying her because she doesn't dose everyday, that doesn't make sense you can skip a day. If she's getting on the street now, my best advice would to go back to clinic and have a taper plan though them. ( I'm saying this even though I have a lot against clinics) she will be more legit that way rather then the street. That's all I can think of at moment. -Mary

she says she dose but im not sure,
i dont think the clinic is not an option for her any more its been over a year since shes been there every time she would miss a day she would have to go back to the doctor and get letter and it got to the point where she couldnt keep up with that every week | ||
