How do I intervene? My son age 40 does have the desease. He has no idea I have been made aware of his addiction by his wife. Intervention is planned. He is buying me a ticket to come visit of which he then leaves on a "pleasure" trip with friends. Once gone, plans will be made. Upon his return, there will be an intervention. Is this a good idea that i go out to "help" preparations for intervention or not? Please advise.

this is a great idea. intervention shows that you care is all. that's what my family did for me when I was going down the wrong path and I too am an addict to meth. I have been clean from it almost a year on June 27th 2015 ..without my family's help I don't think I could have ever done it alone . He also has to want it he has to want to get sober not for anyone else but himself...and if he sees you all care hopefully that will help him see that he does have a problem and hopefully he takes the help given to him.
