Welcome back, Harry:

Get to some local NA/AA meetings and ask the oldtimers.
Are you looking for a detox or a rehab?

Bob

Hey guys, thanks for the quick answers. I need both. I found a place- Pt st lucie hospital. I've been there before...it's not the best, not the---but last time I went, it was real good for me, maybe even life saving.

I just got out of Shands at vista for detox. Because of my insurance I was released from detox after only 4 or 5 days. Pretty much my deal was leave sick or leave on suboxone. That was not my plan, cause I sure don't want to get stuck on this stuff after the hell I went thru getting off it.

Anyway, I left on 8mg sub & got a script for 9 to 10 strips to detox myself.

anyway, I got into their PHP program (partial hospitalization). It was a pretty good program. I went as a commuter because it was almost $1900.00 a month for housing there. The program was effective for me. I know living there would have been very benenficial.

Basically it's a 3 or more month program & it turns out my insurance covers me for about 2 weeks. Anyway, I'm done & in a place of limbo.

I know NA is a good program for many people,. I also know me, & at this point I need a little more than that.

The first thing I need is to be chemical free, a good detox. I don't do well dealing with even partial withdrawals. SPEAKING FOR MYSELF REGARDING SUBOXONE: wHEN I AM ON IT I feel like I still have 1 foot in the door.

I am 62, in OK health, and feel like I have some good years left. My eyes have been opened to the fact that I can live a good life, drug free. That is what I am after,

God Bless,

Love
Harry

Harry, I'm 70.

I've been clean/sober for nearly 26 yrs in AA/NA. You just have to friggin' DO IT !
Everything you need is in HOW IT WORKS.

I didn't have a particularly good childhood but I did have a long one.
I thought I'd try it God's way for a change ....

I wish you the best.
